Annual population counts by provinces in Malaysia, 1970-2025, by 5-yr age groups, ethnicity and sex. Data drawn from 10 years census and estimated for intercensul years. Downloaded from the Department of Statistics data portal on 2026-05-22. Note historical changes in counts: - Prior to 1980, the population residing in W.P. Kuala Lumpur was counted under Selangor. - Prior to 1991, the population residing in W.P. Labuan was counted under Sabah. - Prior to 2010, the population residing in W.P. Putrajaya was counted under Selangor. See the original data portal for more technical details. |
