Abstract	Annual population counts by provinces in Malaysia, 1970-2025, by 5-yr age groups, ethnicity and sex. Data drawn from 10 years census and estimated for intercensul years. Downloaded from the Department of Statistics data portal on 2026-05-22. Note historical changes in counts: Prior to 1980, the population residing in W.P. Kuala Lumpur was counted under Selangor. Prior to 1991, the population residing in W.P. Labuan was counted under Sabah. Prior to 2010, the population residing in W.P. Putrajaya was counted under Selangor.
